Vanessa-Mae performs as special guest at the gala ceremonial evening of the Energy Global Awards held in Brno, Czech Republic. Czech television channel 2 broadcasts the gala on November 28. At the event, Vanessa-Mae performs Sabre Dance from her album Choreography. Other musical guests at the evening are the group Kitts and singer Aneta Langerová.

November 10, 2008, Vanessa-Mae performs in a enchanted concert for charity at The L'Oreal Legends Gala. The gala raised Over $4.3 Million to Benefit The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF).
Vanessa-Mae performs in an enchanted concert after the dinner at The L'Oreal Legends Gala held in New York, USA, on November 10, 2008. The gala raised over $4.3 million for the benefit of The Ovarian Cancer Fund. For the concert, Vanessa-Mae used her transparent acrylic Ted Brewer violin. She was dressed in a fabulous light red coloured flowing silk long evening gown that translucently visualised the shape of her legs. Vanessa-Mae's immaculate full face covering make-up had lipstick in the shade red matching the colour of her dress and a lot of mascara to accentuate her eyes - see the 3 nice photos below.

October 23, 2008, Vanessa-Mae performed a concert in Kosice, Slovakia.
Vanessa-Mae gave a sold out concert in the Steel Arena of Kosice in Slovakia in the framework of her ongoing Choreography Tour. During her concert, Vanessa-Mae was dressed in blue jeans and a blue in multi-colour design spotted sleeveless top, in low cut showing a nice crucifix pendant hanging with a tiny necklace on her chest. Because her long black hair was pulled backwards and tied  in ponytail, Vanessa-Mae 's face was fully exposed showing an impeccable smooth complexion of covering foundation crème with salmon pink lipstick, and eye definition with a line of dark shadow and lots of black mascara - see the series of 8 photos below.

October 21, 2008, Vanessa-Mae presents the first episode of 'Vanessa-Mae's Classical Top 10' by given a personal introduction to the  Mozart Celebration from Berlin 2006.
Vanessa-Mae presents the first episode in a series of 10 shows of Vanessa-Mae's Classical Top 10 by given a personal introduction to Mozart Celebration from Berlin 2006. The shows are broadcasted by the new Sky Arts 2, a new channel of Sky Television that started on October 20, 2008. Vanessa-Mae will present her top 10 on 10 consecutive Tuesdays with finalisation on December 23. Subscribers to Sky Arts were able to vote their favourite classics to complete a top 10 from a short list.

September 26, 2008, Vanessa-Mae and Lionel caught sightseeing in Prague the day after her concert.
Vanessa-Mae and Lionel were caught walking in the streets of Prague sightseeing the ancient city the day after she did her concert in the O2 Arena. Vanessa-Mae was is Prague to deliver a charity concert organised by the Central Group to support fund raising for the Institute for the Care of Mother and Child - VMSPOS reported previously on the concert, see Vanessa-Mae Actual News. The photos below show Vanessa-Mae and Lionel during their walk in the Prague inner city. Seeing the photos of Vanessa-Mae and Lionel walking in Prague, they seem to enjoy themselves very much, but as a couple they appear not to be too clinging with each other. Vanessa-Mae is definitely nice looking, being just casually dressed and with out styled hair and the usual covering and decorating make-up for her face wear. Vanessa-Mae was dressed in pink beige mini skirts over a pair of black tights, a white jacket over a grey sweater and she was on beautiful brown boots with flat heels. Obviously, the weather was nice because Vanessa-Mae had sun glasses.

September 25, 2008, Vanessa-Mae performs a full concert in the O2 Arena of Prague, Czech Republic, organised by the Central Group to support fund raising  for charity to support the Institute for the Care of Mother and Child.
Vanessa-Mae performs in the O2 Arena of Prague accompanied by her band and a string section and a spectacular light effects. The program of the concert consisted of music from her latest album Choreography combined with a selection of well-known classics form her previous repertoire like Storm and Toccata & Fugue. The photos below were found at the internet and show Vanessa-Mae during her concert, playing and accepting applause from an enthusiastic crowd. At her concert, Vanessa-Mae was dressed in dark blue jeans and a fine midnight blue sleeveless top with wide ruffed collar. Vanessa-Mae's long black hair was tied on her back, strongly pulled out of her face that was done with very heavy make-up - see the close-up photos to view her perfectly smooth complexioned visage, the heavy eye make-up of blue to purple shadow and lots of mascara, strongly accentuated brows, and the deep red to purple lipstick.

September 20, 2008, as VMSPOS website recently discovered a small main belt asteroid body orbiting the sun was named after Vanessa-Mae.
The small main belt asteroid 1990 QW17 was discovered by L. V. Zhuravleva on August 26, 19990 at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. The asteroid has been renamed Vanessa-Mae. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the CIT writes on its website to following statement:

10313 Vanessa-Mae: Discovered 1990 Aug. 26 by L. V. Zhuravleva at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory.
Brilliant violinist Vanessa-Mae (b. 1978) created a "bridge between classical and popular music". Her debut album in 1995 sold two million copies. She has won world recognition for her performances in the most prestigious halls.

August 19, 2008: Vanessa-Mae to host 'Vanessa-Mae's Classical Top 10' at the new Sky Arts Channel 2 to be launched in October 2008
Sky Arts announces on their website that Vanessa-Mae will host 'Vanessa-Mae's Classical Top 10' for the new second arts channel Sky Arts 2, scheduled to be launched on October 20, 2008. Visitors to the website 'Vanessa-Mae's Classical Top 10' can vote for their favourite classics online.

August 7, 2008: Vanessa-Mae stars in the BBC series 'The Making Of Me, aired on last Thursday, August 7, 2008.
The documentary 'Vanessa-Mae: The Making Of Mae' was broadcasted by the BBC on channel 1 on Thursday August 7. According The Guardian, the show attracted some 2.9 million viewers. The screen captures presented below stem from the documentary.

July 31, 2008: Vanessa-Mae visits the horse race festival of Glorious Goodwood, Goodwood West Sussex, UK.
Vanessa-Mae visited the horse race festival of Goodwood, West Sussex, the so-called Glorious Goodwood on July 31, 2008. The 2 photos below were made there. Vanessa-Mae looked quite casual in a wide white pair of trousers and and a long sleeved red-white dotted sweater. Although not shown together on the photos, Vanessa-Mae was most likely accompanied by her friend Lionel.

Vanessa-Mae and her friend Lionel attended the Cartier International Polo day, annually held at the Guards polo club in Windsor, UK. The series of photos below show Vanessa-Mae posing alone, as well as walking around the premises closely followed by Lionel. Vanessa-Mae presented herself in a stylish summer outfit being dressed in a long white skirts and a beige shirt with long sleeves in which she looked quite casual, also because her make-up was very light with pink coloured lipstick.

Comments by VMSPOS: Last year, Vanessa-Mae visited both the events mentioned above too. Apparently, these annual events during the summer are on Vanessa-Mae's agenda, as she shows up almost every year. This year, Vanessa-Mae presented herself in a more casual outfits, whereas last year, she showed up in stylish silk dresses with flower prints, also wearing much more make-up  - see the four photos below. For the the horse race festival of Goodwood, Vanessa-Mae attended the official ladies day which prescribes a special dressing code in which a hat is obligatory. The two photos below on the right show Vanessa-Mae at the Glorious Goodwood ladies day of 2007 where she showed up in a red floral print silk dress with a hair fascinator, and she had a lot of make-up too on her face with bright lipstick in the colour red of her silk dress as striking mark in a with crème smoothly complexioned visage.

July 14, 2008, Vanessa-Mae's life and career is one of the subjects in a new BBC's series 'The Making Of Me' to be broadcasted in July and August 2008!
Vanessa-Mae will be one of the subjects of the new BBC series 'The Making Of Me.' The BBC will broadcast the program in 3 episodes starting on Thursday July 24 with a weekly frequency each Thursday. The program has a scientific approach and tries to answer the question what factors determine success: Genetics? Natural talent? Hard work? Luck? Social background and upbringing? Or Was it Me! The program will explore the life and fate of some famous talented people like Vanessa-Mae, Olympic silver medallist and 110m hurdles world record holder Colin Jackson, and actor and television star John Barrowman.

For this occasion, Vanessa-Mae was in a simple and easy, yet elegant, outfit of a fine V-necked sleeveless shirt in grey with a slight undertone of green that consisted of a satin shoulder part and silk to cover her upper body, over a fine black pair of trousers, completed with open shoes that revealed red painted toe nails. Vanessa-Mae had her long black shinning hair tied on her back so that her face that was beautifully made up with a nice full covering foundation crème - mark the make-up border against her hair line - a light red lipstick and some minor definition of her eyes and brows with black liner, mascara and little dark shadow, to bring her visage fully exposed to an utmost perfection in the overall presentation.

June 6, 2008: Vanessa-Mae honoured with a Delphi cultivar named after her: the Delphinium 'Vanessa-Mae'
As we only recently found out, a Delphinium cultivar was named after Vanessa-Mae in order to honour her. Photo 1 below shows the specie that won the third prize at the Delphinium society show held June 19-20, 2004 in the category florets. Photo 2 shows a species photographed at the Royal Horticultural Society precincts.

May 2, 2008, Vanessa-Mae member of advisory board chaired by Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein to prepare and promote "Bridges: Dialogues towards a culture of peace" to be held in Malaysia and Thailand from November 2008 to April 2009, The New Straits Times reports.
Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein launched the promotion for the "Bridges: Dialogues towards a culture of peace" to be held in Malaysia and Thailand later this year to initiate and maintain peace peace in the world between nations and cultures. Prince Alfred presides and advisory board whose members include 38 Nobel laureates, politicians as well as personalities from the cultural world like Vanessa-Mae, singer Peter Gabriel and referent Jesse Jackson. During the events, Nobel laureates, politicians and artists will give lectures, seminars, workshops and performances. The events are facilitated by the International Peace Foundation, based in Vienna.

Vanessa-Mae comes second on the annual rich list of the Sunday Times with an estimated fortune of £ 32 million (app. EUR 41 million and $ 63 million). Dhani Harrison, son of former and deceased Beatle George Harrison, tops the list with about £ 160 million.

It is of course possible to earn such a fortune is just one year but it seems more likely to us that the Sunday Times overlooked him previously. April 6, 2008, Vanessa-Mae joined the relay of the Olympic Torch through London
As reported in previous editions, Vanessa-Mae joined the relay of the Olympic Torch through London on Sunday, April 6. The BBC reported on the relay and the controversy and turmoil it caused. A filmed report was broadcasted in the evening program of April 6. Vanessa-Mae was briefly shown in this report.

April 6, 2008, Vanessa-Mae carried the Olympic Torch in the relay through London
Vanessa-Mae participates the relay to bring the Olympic Torch through London at the South Bank Center to the Waterloo Bridge in central London. Answering questions to the press she states:  "It's a great honour to run in the Olympic torch relay. I'm here for the Olympics." Vanessa-Mae carried the Olympic Torch in a run surrounded by security people, a measurement alike all other participants encountered at their part of the relay. the photos below show Vanessa-Mae during her run. The last 3 photos show Vanessa-Mae with Lord Coe and posing alone while answering questions from the media. Vanessa-Mae was dressed in the special white Olympic Torch relay outfit and she was obviously made up - do note the dark eye definition and red lipstick!

April 6, 2008: Vanessa-Mae participates in bringing the Olympic Torch through London in a relay with more than 80 celebrities and sports personalities from the UK
Vanessa-Mae participates the relay to bring the Olympic Torch through London at the South Bank Center to the Waterloo Bridge in central London. Answering questions to the press she states:  "It's a great honour to run in the Olympic torch relay. I'm here for the Olympics" - see the ANP photo of Vanessa-Mae below. The Olympic Torch relay was marred by protesters who wanted to express their thoughts and anxiety over human rights in China and its attitude towards Tibet.

Comments by VMSPOS: Vanessa-Mae looks fantastic in the white sports costume. Because her hair is tied backwards in a tail on her back, her face becomes very exposed. Obviously, Vanessa-Mae wears make-up as is visible in her soft red lipstick and the dark eye definition.

April 6, 2008: Vanessa-Mae in the line-up of the torchbearers to carry the Olympic Fire through London on Sunday, April 6 2008
As reported previously, Vanessa-Mae is in the line-up for bringing the Olympic Torch through London relay. Among the many other famous celebrities and public figures who participate Arsenal footballer, Theo Walcott, TV presenter Konnie Huq, and veteran newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald. Aspiring British athletes hoping to take part in the London 2012 Games and young people nominated for personal achievements will also be part of the torch-carrying team. Also present in the line up are: Tim Henman, Denise Van Outen, Sir Steven Redgrave, Ellen MacArthur, Zoë Salmon and Denise Lewis.

March 20, 2008: Vanessa-Mae to perform at the Dubai World Cup Ceremony on March 29
Vanessa Mae is scheduled to perform to an audience of around 55,000 race goers at the Dubai World Cup ceremony to be held on March 29. Her performance will come before the main event, when a racehorse’s story from birth to its crossing of the finish line will be acted out by some of the world’s finest artists against the backdrop of a light and laser show. In addition, Vanessa-Mae has provided an original music score for the show.

Vanessa-Mae is in the line-up of showbiz celebrities and sportsmen who will carry the Olympic Torch through London on Sunday, April 6, 2008. Vanessa-Mae is among 80 famous like England cricketer Kevin Pietersen television presenter Konnie Huq, retired swimmer Duncan Goodhew, badminton player Gail Emms, Dame Kelly Holmes and Sir Trevor McDonald. The route of the torch will start at the Wembley Arena Square, pass the site of the 2012 Games and end in a "grand finale" beside the O2 featuring performances by the Sugababes and a gymnastics display.

Vanessa-Mae' s best hotel she ever stayed in: The Mandarin Hotel in Dhara Dhevi in Thailand.
Vanessa-Mae's worst holiday: a two week holidays in Bermuda and finding out that there is hardly anything to do; moreover, the food was bad.
Vanessa-Mae worst experience on holidays: being on a New Year’s holiday to Zermatt in Switzerland to stay at the Gornergrat Kulm Hotel, which is Europe’s highest functioning hotel, set at 3,100 metres, and finding out that ski lifts stopped service back to the hotel at 7pm already.
