Vanessa-Mae did several interviews with newspapers during her trip to the Baltic states. A few highlights from her answers are summarized below:

- Vanessa-Mae is currently living in Switzerland, and Zermatt is her permanent residence there.

- Toccata & Fugue and Storm are constant pieces in Vanessa-Mae's concert programs because the audiences expect her to play them. The people would not be satisfied without hearing these classics from her repertoire.

- Vanessa-Mae plans to go on a larger tour next year. For 2011, Vanessa-Mae has ambitions to create a show with three dimensional visual effects.

- Vanessa-Mae want to record a new album in 2011.

- Vanessa-Mae has approval from the Tai Olympic Committee, but now she has to qualify to enter the winter Olympics of 2014.

- Vanessa-Mae is not afraid of risk, she considers life too short. Her career path has been a risk from the start when she could safely continue to play the traditional classics as an alternative. She is not afraid of getting hurt by a skiing injury, and she has her arms fingers, elbows insured.

- Vanessa-Mae did not change her opinion on marriage. She is afraid to do the step since her family suffers a tradition of divorces.

- Vanessa-Mae looks back upon her initial sexy image of 15 years ago as a risk well taken when she started something new with a new concept of music making. She is still around despite what her critics said and predicted.

- Vanessa-Mae is uncertain of having a child of her own, because she experienced herself how deep a child can be emotionally affected by parental behaviour.

- After the two concerts, Vanessa-Mae will stay a few days in Innsbruck, and then she will go home in Zermatt with Xmas. She and Lionel will spend New Year in France. After new year, Vanessa-Mae will fly to London for a couple of meetings.

August 14, The Telegraph quotes Vanessa-Mae in a headline as follows

Vanessa-Mae: I want to be an Olympic skier

The Telegraph elaborated further on Vanessa-Mae's plans to participate in the Olympic winter games of Sochi for Thailand in a report on a conversation that they had with her Swiss alpine apartment in Zermatt. A highlight are the following lines from the article show that Vanessa-Mae realises very well that that way into the Olympics will long and difficult :

Vanessa is realistic about her skiing ambitions. Yes, she concedes, there is pressure that those accustomed to her success in the music world will expect the same level of accomplishment. “But it has been my dream, and I am hoping people will accept I just want to give it my best. To even get to the Olympics, I have to qualify for the 2013 World Championships and the standard is high. I know I am always going to be a few points behind the top guys. I am taking a plunge. I am British, but realistically there is no way I could represent my own country, but because my natural father is Thai, they have accepted me.”

Part of the conversation in Zermatt also involved Vanessa-Mae's musical career.

Vanessa-Mae: Don’t underestimate how important my music is to me. It is still my life’s passion. It is still the essence of who I am. It is just that I am more relaxed now.

Vanessa-Mae mentioned that she is working on a new project, though no indication for a release schedule was given by her. The Telegraph quoted Vanessa-Mae as follows:

It involves dance and music – not me dancing, you understand. Taking up ballet at 31 isn’t an option. But I have long been keen to amalgamate my style of music with dance.

July 31, Various media report that Vanessa-Mae plans to start for Thailand at the 2014 winter Olympics of Sochi as down hill skier.
Various media in Thailand, Germany and the UK report that Vanessa-Mae plans to start as down hill skier for Thailand during the coming winter Olympic of Sochi in 2014. According to the media, the Thai Olympic Committee approved Vanessa-Mae's participation, who is now awaiting final approval from the International Ski Federation. Final confirmation from Vanessa-Mae herself on this issue is still lacking.

Vanessa-Mae was said to ski for Thailand already during the 2002 Winter Olympics of Salt lake City. At that time, Thailand insisted that Vanessa-Mae should give up her UK nationality in order to get a Thai passport, which Vanessa-Mae was not willing to do. However, in 2002, Vanessa-Mae was granted the Thai nationality, because Thailand felt that the country benefits from merits and achievements of people like Vanessa-Mae who have Thai ancestry.

July 22, Dutch television broadcasted The Making Of Me with Vanessa-Mae.
Dutch television channel 3 broadcasted the BBC documentary The Making Of Me with Vanessa-Mae last Thursday evening, July 22, at 9:00pm CET. The show with Vanessa-Mae attracted some 242,000 viewers in the Netherlands. The first episode with John Barrowman, broadcasted the previous week, attracted about 219,000. These numbers are quite good for a documentary after prime time, especially considering the fact that the programs dealt with non-domestic celebrities that are not too familiar in the Netherlands.
