Official promotional photos of Vanessa-Mae

Gallery 8 contains official promotion photos of Vanessa-Mae made in the years 1995-2009. These photos were all made to promote Vanessa-Mae's albums for the EMI label. Photos used by Sony Classical to promote Vanessa-Mae's album Choreography will be added to this gallery soon.

The 8 photos below come from the promotion campaign for Vanessa-Mae's The Violin Player album. The first 4 photos from the left on the top line form  the so-called Wet T-shirt series. Vanessa-Mae was harshly criticised or by classical purists and moral censors - see the section VMSPOS reply to Vanessa-Mae's critics. All visitors to this gallery can judge for themselves whether these photos are improper, sexually exploiting or in any way indecent or immoral. We only see a beautiful young girl posing with her violin having fun in enjoying herself. As Vanessa-Mae said, if an adult is sexually aroused by these photos of a young flat girl of 15 years old, doesn't that say more about the adult than about me. The last photo in this series on the bottom line to the right also needs mentioning specifically. Here, Vanessa-Mae wears a men's suit with a belt having a large buckle. Vanessa-Mae always looks great when she wears a white blouse like here underneath the suit-jacket.

The 6 photos below served a promotion campaign to support The Classical Album 1, Vanessa-Mae new album in 1996. These photos are the first shoot showing a Vanessa-Mae with her face perfectly and heavily made up, a feature that would become an consciously sought trademark despite her young age.

Below are 4 photos of Vanessa-Mae that were used to promote her albums Storm and China Girl. The photo on the left shows Vanessa-Mae as a Chinese girl from higher social circles, wearing a silk hand beaded long dress and high heeled shoes, having her face perfectly made up to a flawless smooth complexion and her eyebrows styled to a perfect fine line on top of the covering crème. Also, she wears a wig, and she has an umbrella with Chinese style decorations. On the second photo, Vanessa-Mae wears the same wig and a dramatic midnight blue lace cheongsam from Shanghai Tang. Do notice Vanessa-Mae's perfectly shaped eye brows that have been defined with a black pencil to sharp lines on top of her covering make-up, she also had lots of mascara defining her lashes. The third photo the right shows a shot when Vanessa-Mae was acting in the filming of a documentary in Hyde Park, London. The photo on the right shows Vanessa-Mae with a very juvenile expression on her face. The waving of Vanessa-Mae's hair suggests the use of a blower for this session.

The series of 23 photos below were used to promote the re-release of Vanessa-Mae's early albums as 3cd box The Classical Collection part 1 in the autumn of 2000. Basically this series consists of several sets of photos where Vanessa-Mae is wearing the same clothes in various poses. However, all the photos show Vanessa-Mae looking really made up, which must have been intentionally: take notice on all the photos of her flawless complexion that looks quite powdered, her lashes and eye brows being styled and accentuated with sparkling black mascara, and soft glossy lipstick. Vanessa-Mae looks great in her denim sleeveless top with leather part, shown on the first four photos on the top line. The first 3 photos on the second line are particularly nice too, especially the first one where Vanessa-Mae turns the left part of her face to the camera with a roguish expression to show the nice blush visible on her cheek. The two photos to the right on the second line were used to illustrate an article and interview with Vanessa-Mae published in the Readers Digest of March 2002. Vanessa-Mae wears a fantastic long dress there. The set where Vanessa-Mae is sitting on a bed with white sheets is also very nice and funny, as well are the ones in a black dress in the kitchen, on the table in between the dish wash and on the floor. Worth mentioning are also the last two photos, that are the same but one in colour and one in black and white. The black and white version breathes a mysterious atmosphere, and the coloured version shows immediately that Vanessa-Mae was very heavily made up, do notice the eye make-up with extended lashes with white ends of the outside hairs, and the eye brows styled to firm black lines on top of her make-up.

The 30 photos below where made for the promotion of Vanessa-Mae's album Subject To Change that was released in Europe and Asia in May of 2001. Most of these photos were used in the booklet of the album and the tour brochure for the Tour For Change. Vanessa-Mae used for these photos a set of beautiful T-shirts and some fine dresses as well. She looks perfectly styled and made up on all photos, and her hair was growing long again after the cut in 1999. The two white bird pictures on the bottom line are deserve mentioning. Vanessa-Mae is depicted in a short pants of shining satin, with a naked upper body, holding her hands to hide her own private parts, and with feathers on her shoulders. Surprisingly, the media did not show too much attention for these photos that must have been meant to make a statement in the promotion of the White Bird single from the album. The photo in the middle of the second row was used for the cover on the White Bird cd single, showing Vanessa-Mae in a fantastic bright white sleeveless T-shirt with V-neck. The second photo form the left on the bottom line shows Vanessa-Mae in midst of having her face painted to an expression of being obviously made up. The final b&w photo to the right on the bottom line is also very nice. Obviously from Vanessa-Mae's expression, she was heavily made up there too, especially her eyes, eye brows and lips look extremely defined.
